When you load a Permate traffic source template, all options and text fields are already filled up with default settings. You do not need to change any option or provide any additional information to be able to use this traffic source element in your campaign funnel. However, you can edit any setting you want if you like.
⚠️ Note: The traffic source refers to the platform where you buy advertisements (ad exchanges, ad networks,…). If you’re a partner or directly buy traffic from another source, please add a custom traffic source.
Create a new traffic source from the template
Here are the steps to configure a traffic source using a Permate template:
Step 1: Go to Tracker >> Traffic source >> Select the Traffic source option from the New drop-down menu.
Step 2: Choose a traffic source you want to have Permate automatically create the template
Step 3: Click Next.
Step 4: Based on the Traffic Source you selected in Step 2, please do the following in the Setup tab:
- Check the autofill system information.
- Fill in mandatory elements:
- Workspace: from the dropdown menu, choose the Workspace where you want to assign this traffic source. Please note that only members within the specific workspace have permission to access and utilize this element. Refer to the Workers and Workspaces: Overview articles for more information.
- Traffic source name: Enter a unique name. Tips: You should have a standard set-up traffic source name in your organization to find easily
- Status: choose one of the two traffic source statuses Active (Traffic source will be displayed when creating a campaign) or Inactive (Traffic source will be hidden when creating a campaign).
- Cost Currency: By default, it’s USD. However, if wanted, you can pick the currency you use to buy traffic from the dropdown menu. Permate will use this currency to track cost data, and it can’t be changed after recording. Note that, it will be difficult to track your cash flow if the currency you use to buy traffic is different from the currency you get paid in.
Step 5: Select Save to finish creating Traffic Source from the available Permate Template.
